At our first FCF pond-dipping event, participants made the most of a balmy evening to investigate the wildlife of enclosed Back Field.
Encouraged by Val Pope and Jake Everitt of HDC, we peered at grass snakes and slow worms under corrugated sheeting, “swept” the meadow edges with nets to see insects up close and of course made many a dip into the Back Field pond to find a wealth of aquatic life.
We finished the evening in traditional FCF fashion with refreshments in the Volunteer Centre. We look forward to seeing you there next summer!
