A post from the HDC Horsham Countryside team today: “What a beautiful afternoon on the Farm. Today saw a very exciting project finally come to fruition as the Countryside team, ably assisted by the Friends of Chesworth Farm, finally managed to get the winter bird crop sown. As you can see from the slide show it was a wonderfully warm afternoon with plenty of hard work put in by the Friends volunteers and wardens alike.
“Fingers crossed we will have an excellent winter food source for many of the birds that use the Farm such as Yellowhammer, Linnet and Reed Bunting. Keep your eyes peeled around the Wheat Rick and New Town Nine Acres Fields for signs of activity in the coming weeks. Thanks again to the band of merry ladies and gents who were kind enough to lend a hand, all expertly fuelled by some fantastic baking!”
