UK Power Networks team help out

Some of the eight-strong team of volunteers at work earlier this month, helping with a variety of Chesworth Farm projects: siting dormouse nesting boxes, repairing the wetland boardwalk, post-fixing, blackboard-painting and more.

Many thanks to UK Power Networks who released the energetic employees, from East and West Sussex and Surrey, to join us on the farm on a two-day company involvement project. Classic 1950s tractor was team’s own, courtesy of the local organiser, Paul Maynard.

Grazing
The HDC herd of British White cattle are currently grazing Jenny Bare Legs and Great Horsham Hill (Fri 9 June for approx 2 weeks). The herd of llamas, goats and sheep are in enclosed Tip Field (no public access). Please do not feed any of the grazing animals on the site – they are well cared for, fed and watered. They are here to help maintain the farmland habitat.

Horse-riders and cyclists please keep to the bridleways. These cross the site E-W or N-S. If you are on a diagonal field path, you are definitely not on the right track.
