Parlour Mead

The farm’s latest viewing platform is bounded by Parlour Mead and Tip Field, on the south border of the farm.  It sits above the old route of a popular, but often flooded, loop of the 13-mile Horsham Riverside Walk. Access to the platform is by boardwalk or surfaced path.

In time the platform will provide undisturbed views of the three ponds below. Two are mainly fed by field drains. The third is clay-lined, primarily fed by rainwater and will dry out in hot weather.   Habitats like these increase local connectivity for a range of species, starting with all-important pollinating insects and followed by other wildlife, attracted by the rich resources and shelter close to water, circled by copses, hedgerows and fields.
